requiem

This work was stolen from me back in 2005, the photo's were taken from my memory card, and i was deprived of the originals. i asked for it to be taken down at the time but without proof, what could i do my word against the uploading artist. i've labelled it requiem, as a nod to the relationship between artist and model at this current stage. i can still remember the day of shooting, he, arrogant and flippant, it was his "photographic" project afterall needed shooting, me, with my camera, lens', tripod and at the time, bottomless ambition. passing my own work to give him a shot at his. we went to the locations he suggested, shot there, he has them uploaded to his gallery, nothing of any artistic merit. he treated composition like it was the bane of his existance, never searching for texture, contrast or negative space. only ever pointing the camera at the subject. we walked to the local leisure centre, just to get pictures from a small wood nearby, when over the bridge i asked him to walk on, he did so, as i snapped away. i then asked him to return, look over the bridge, he didso, and finally i asked him to sit and look dispairingly. again, following my command, i positioned his legs, and took many shots paying close attention to the lines of the bridge.

as it stands, this is a rip of his copy, plagerism perhaps, but it was i that took the shot, i that found the location, and directed the model. angle alone will tell you that at 18mm, the camera was aprox 3inches from the ground, and how could he take this shot, sitting in the bridge as he has. furthermore, a mere glance though his gallery will expose tell tale composition and photographical element traits that suggest a different photographer, but traits which follow my early works, specifically [link] [link] & [link]

i wish this could have been submitted under different circumstance, but you cant reason with someone obsessed with self-indulgence and a "god-complex" if you will
